Planned Maintenance - Melbourne Infrastructure Upgrade

What's happening ?
We will be performing scheduled maintenance on University of Melbourne infrastructure that supports the Nectar Research Cloud.
During the maintenance, your virtual machine(s) will need to be shut down and started as part of this process.

When is it happening ?
The maintenance window is Monday, 25 May 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM AEST. Your VM(s) will only be affected for a portion of this window as we work through the changes.

Do I need to do anything ? Will this affect my work ?
Please save any unsaved work and safely shut down any critical processes before the maintenance window begins. Any running processes or jobs that are not saved will be lost.
Your VM(s) will be brought back up once the maintenance is complete. You do not need to take any action to restart it.

Will I notice anything different after the maintenance ?
No. Your VM(s), including the associated IP address, attached storage, and configuration, will remain the same.
