A Critical vulnerability requireds hypervisors and VMs reboots

A critical vulnerability has been discovered in the storage platform used by our research cloud servers and virtual machines(VMs). disappointingly there is no other way to mitigate other than rebooting all VMs.

Mitigation plan

The only current mitigation is to reboot every hypervisor (the physical servers that host your virtual machines) and every VM. for each hypervisor we must:
- Shut down its VMs
- Reboot the hypervisor
- Start the VMs back up

Schedule
Start: Monday 12th of October, 10am
End: by Tuesday 13th of October, 6pm

Given the tight time frame, we can't provide exact shutdown times for individual VMs. Expect your VM to be offline for up to 2 hours at some point during this window.
