Auckland Network Upgrade

• Scheduled start: Fri, 29 Mar 2024 9:00a.m. (UTC), Scheduled end: Fri, 29 Mar 2024 5:00p.m. (UTC)

Overnight upgrade of firewalls and some core switches.

This should not affect the Nectar VMs, as the Nectar service is outside the UoA network, directory connected to the REANNZ research network switches.
As Single Sign On through Tuakiri is listed as being affected, researchers wont be able to authenticate to use the dashboard during the outage.

While the upgrade takes place, there will be disruptions to many University services and systems. This means that you will not have access to the University network or any shared drives for the duration of the outage.

Services disrupted throughout this upgrade, include but are not limited to:

All systems requiring Single Sign On
Device authentication
Access to storage (home drives and research)
Library services
Canvas
Wi-Fi (on campus)
This upgrade is part of an ongoing programme of work that replaces the University's data centre network, which connects our campuses and the wider internet.
